At the members meeting on the 27/09/18 we decided to try out a new meeting format which allowed members to teach the group new things which they may not have previously had the opportunity to do. An example of this is when last meeting, Mike kindly brought along his personal mount cutting equipment and carried out a short demonstration on creating the mount and how to correctly mount a photograph. After his demonstration he allowed members to have a go themselves.
As you can see from the pictures Lyn did a marvellous job at her first go of cutting and mounting her very own photograph along with some guidance from Mike.
Along with the mounting exercise members also watched a number of short videos to help them understand a wide range of photography based topics. These topics ranged from histograms, shutter speed and camera positioning. After this section we had a few moments of feedback from all members in which we decided to make the short videos a permanent feature of the meetings as it allows people to learn new things and grow as photographers.
